High above the clouds...
...where freedom knows no bounds. All fears, all worries are said to be buried beneath them. These lines – taken from a well loved song by Reinhard May that was released in 1974 – are still every bit as relevant today.
On February 8, 2020, the Mindbreeze marketing team had the opportunity to experience this freedom.
The weather forecast delivered on its promises. A sky full of stars – at least for the time being. We approach our destination – the airfield in beautiful Zell am See – BUT the fog is getting thicker. We’re starting to have our doubts. We actually wanted to set off at the first light of dawn and enjoy the sunrise, as it were. Having arrived, we were met with a sobering realization: At the moment, it won’t be possible to launch. So for now, we’ll just have to wait and see. And, after what feels like an eternity, the news finally arrives – we can start – despite the fog.
Our adventure begins. We climb into the basket, all bundled up and ready to go. After just a few minutes, we start to pick up speed and quickly gain altitude.
Anticipation mounts with each passing meter – and finally: We pierce through the blanket of fog and a beautiful panorama opens up before our eyes. Floating over snow-covered mountain peaks, we look out over Lake Zell, spot the Grossglockner in the distance, and ascend to an altitude of nearly 3,700 meters above sea level.
A truly unique experience! But don’t just take it from us – see for yourself:
